If you are reporting something going wrong, it saves a round trip to include: which iPhone you are on, which iOS version, the app version from the bottom of the You screen, and what you were doing when it happened.
Using the app
How do I start?
The first run asks a few questions, then walks you through the six tests. They take about ten minutes. You need a wall, a bit of floor, and something to measure a short distance with. Once you have a level on each test, Reach picks the programme that targets whatever came out worst, or you can choose a different one from the Library tab.
Can I change programme?
Yes. Open the Library tab, or go to You and tap Choose a programme. Your test levels and history come with you.
Why did it drop or swap a stretch I wanted?
Because you flagged pain that stretch would aggravate. Reach avoids static hamstring stretches if you reported sciatic symptoms, and skips loaded calf stretches if you reported heel pain, replacing them with something safer. You can change those flags at any time under You — the programme updates from the next session.
When is my retest?
The Today tab counts down to it. Programmes run six to eight weeks, and the retest is the same six tests on the same scales, so the numbers are comparable. Do it on a normal day, not straight after a session.
Should a stretch hurt?
No. Every position is meant to be taken to where it pulls, not to where it hurts, and the cue on each stretch says so. Sharp pain, tingling, numbness or weakness down a leg is a question for a doctor, not for an app — stop and get it looked at. Reach is a training tool. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose or treat anything.
What does a tier mean?
It is how hard the same session works you. Beginner is plain holds. Intermediate is longer holds in harder positions. Advanced adds contract-relax, isometric reps and end-range strength rather than simply more minutes. Reach moves you up as a position stops being difficult.
Your data
Where are my progress photos?
Inside the app, on your phone only. They are not in your camera roll, they are not backed up to any server of ours, and nothing is ever uploaded. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
How do I delete a photo, or everything?
One photo: Progress tab, tap the photo, Delete photo. Everything: You → Start over, which erases every session, level, retest and photo from the phone. That cannot be undone.
I got a new iPhone. Does my history move?
Only through an encrypted iPhone or iCloud backup restored onto the new device — Reach has no account, so there is nothing to sign into and nothing to sync from. If you set the new phone up as new, you start fresh. Cloud sync is planned; it is not in this version.
Is there an account to delete?
No. Reach never asks you to sign up, so there is no account and no password, and nothing of yours sits on a server waiting to be deleted.
Purchases
This version of Reach is free and has no subscriptions or in-app purchases. If that changes, billing will run through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com rather than by us. Write to us anyway if something looks wrong and we will help you chase it.
Availability
Reach is an iPhone app and needs a recent version of iOS. There is no Android or web version. It works fully offline; the only thing it uses the network for is checking whether an update is available.
